Construction has been around since the beginning of all time when our ancestors built rudimentary large buildings. However, since the nineteenth century that reality began to transform until it reaches the present day where some companies are responsible for the construction of residences, parks, shopping centers, among others ... And not only that, but they have known how to take advantage of the boom in new technologies. But it is worth asking, what is a construction company?
A construction company is made up of a team of professionals whose main objective is to manufacture buildings and infrastructures. They are also in charge of restoring or remodeling different areas. Construction companies are divided into different fields, among them you can find residential, institutional, public works, commercial and industrial construction.
Construction companies could be defined as a company that receives economic resources both from its shareholders and from the liquidations of its completed works. The Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy defines it as “Entity made up of capital and work as factors of production and dedicated to commercial industrial activities or the provision of services generally for profit”.
This sector can represent up to 10% of the total economic activity of any developed or developing country. That is why it is considered as an important factor for any society.
Main characteristics of construction companies
One of the particular characteristics of this type of company is that today they are creating training programs to help students and professionals to continue their education because over time there is greater demand and competitiveness.
These types of companies have the infrastructure and labor necessary to build any type or form of construction. Some of the limitations that a construction company could encounter are the exponential growth of competition, the limited availability of financial resources, the globalization of markets and the constant demand for modern designs.
Similarly, there are internal factors that are disadvantageous for these types of areas, such as a limited learning and training curve, unproductiveness, low levels of security, poor planning, or excessively short execution times. As you will see, the construction companies are a challenge that deserves responsible and trained people who are responsible for the development of the works.
