NHEO Institute Participation in ConExpo 2020 Tradeshow in Vegas

NHEO Institute recently participated at the ConExpo 2020 Tradeshow in Vegas with the goal of taking the ‘Building a Safer Future’ campaign globally.

Our goal is to provide top of the safety and health class resources in multiple languages to the contractors as well as all the business owners, so that chances of their success improves. This campaign was first launched in 2018 and its primary aim is to reduce the construction-related accidents and hazards and eliminate them.

Over 500 Companies Pledged to the Campaign

There is an urgent need for health and safety initiatives on all construction sites and this is the reason we have taken this campaign internationally.

“It was nice to see such a diverse group of people all coming together to support one thing and that’s safety and health at construction sites”.    Tiffany Henriquez, NHEO Institute Community Volunteer.

The tradeshow was attended by many reputed construction companies. We gave attendees a chance to pledge and enroll for our campaign during the event at booth GL32108 in Grand Lobby Area.

Over 500 construction companies representing 40 countries pledged for the campaign (Procore, Komatsu, and Caterpillar are some of them). We are truly overwhelmed by the response we got from the attendees. The companies, by committing to safety and health, showed that they care for their workers. We thank all the construction companies that pledged to our campaign.

Our ‘Building a Safer Future’ campaign also helped in educating people regarding the recent Coronavirus outbreak and the effects it will have on the construction industry. COVID-19 Coronavirus is life-threatening and it spreads from one person to another through respiratory droplets. In the construction industry, it is impossible to work from home so this campaign was all the more important at the tradeshow in Vegas.

JP Giometti, NHEO Institute Board member also presented on the topic-“Why a Diverse and Inclusive Workforce Matters for your Business?” on March 12th. He talked about various activities and projects completed with companies such as Bechtel and Exxon, and his vision about the future workforce in construction.

Women in Construction Program

We also presented the NHEO Institute Women in Construction initiative at the ConExpo 2020 show. We all know that the construction field is a male-dominated industry. So, with this program, we wanted to inspire the next generation of women in the construction industry.

We had a great event at the recently concluded ConExpo 2020 tradeshow in Vegas. Many people were enthusiastic and interested in our campaign regarding the safety of workers as well as Women in Construction mentorship program.

Special thanks to ConExpo organizers for organizing such a wonderful event for the participants. We hope to see you all again in 2023.
